The Playful Yoga Project
At Playful Yoga, all babes are welcome. These sessions are a space to move, explore, and feel at ease in your body. We focus on building strength, confidence, and joy, without taking ourselves too seriously.
Our work is shaped by an understanding of the impact of gender and family violence, and the role movement can play in restoring safety, agency, and connection. This lens informs everything we do, without defining the experience.
Alongside our classes, we’re developing a scholarship program to support women stepping into leadership and facilitation through Yoga Teacher Training. The aim is simple. Open doors, back talent, and grow a community that lifts each other up.
Looking ahead, our wellness hub opens in 2027. A considered home for movement, immersive wellness, and curated retail. Every profit flows back into our programs, keeping the energy and impact in motion. How good.
Meet Kate, our Head Babe
Teaching with heart, leading from lived experience
Kate grew up on the Gold Coast and found yoga early. What began as a teenage practice became a long-term study of movement, mind, and meaning.
Her training spans India and Ubud, with a foundation in Hatha and Vinyasa and further study in yogic philosophy and teaching. She is currently deepening her work through training in mental health and yoga, with a focus on the nervous system and psychological wellbeing.
Alongside her teaching, Kate is a qualified lawyer with experience advising major corporations in Australia and overseas. Her legal background, informed by lived experience, shapes her ongoing advocacy for systemic reform, including Clare’s Law (Domestic Violence Disclosure Scheme).
Kate's classes blend depth, intelligence, and a sense of humour. Considered, human, and never too serious. Darcy, her cavoodle, provides moral support and cuddles.
Curious?
All babes are welcome. If you’ve tried Yoga or Pilates before, you’ll get the most out of our sessions.
If not, don’t worry. You might not hit every move perfectly, but you’ll still leave feeling stronger, playful, and connected.
Our Open Studio sessions are completely free.
If you would like to make a financial contribution, we are currently raising funds for the Domestic Violence Prevention Centre.
DVPC is a local organisation helping women across the Gold Coast community escape violence. They do amazing work.
